Short walkthroughs for every part of TideEx — and the fastest way to tell us when something is wrong.

Guided tours

  1. 1Let the map find youOpen the map tab. If you allow location, TideEx centers on your stretch of coast and lists the nearest beaches and reference gauges.
  2. 2Search instead, if you likeUse the search bar at the top to jump to a beach, town, or gauge anywhere in WA, OR, or CA. Selecting a result pans the map — it never yanks your zoom around.
  3. 3Tap a pinTapping a pin opens that spot's detail: the tide curve, high/low times with heights, and how the prediction is derived from its reference station.
  4. 4Read the shaded bandsGold bands are harvest/low-tide-explore windows, teal are swim and snorkel, blue-grey is night. If a spot says "regional default," nobody has tuned it yet — that's where your field notes help.
